Established in 1977 and over the years have enjoyed many great successes in the show ring and the sales ring.
We are delighted to announce the sale of an amazing selection of 21 Pedigree Limousin cattle right from the heart of the Trueman & Lynderg herds.
Direct from the heart of our herd to yours!
The Trueman Herd was established in 1997 with the purchase of two heifers. Since then, it has expanded and now consists of more than 20 breeding cows. Most of the cows are progeny of the 40th Anniversary National Champion Trueman Euphonium (Direct progeny embryo lot 17) and the younger cows are Euphonium x Jagger daughters.
These are tremendous females which are now being crossed with the new stock bull Telfers Munster. Progeny of Telfers Munster have already been sold in 2020 in our on-line sale and females have reached 17,100 Gns and bulls to 10,000 Gns. The main emphasis within the herd is producing cattle with exceptional shape, length, and docility as well as ease of calving and milking ability.
The best cows in the herd are flushed regularly to try and reproduce the highest quality cattle within the Limousin breed. Cows are flushed 2 or 3 times a year and then put back in calf. As the health status of recipients is so important, these are sourced from farms who are also part of a High Health Scheme with Johnes Level 1 being the most important criteria when purchasing recipients. Our family would like once again to thank the buyers and under bidders from our first online sale in 2020. We believe the line up for our 2021 sale is filled with exceptional quality dare we say our best overall line up! We honestly believe they will go on to thrive and drive success in their new homes.
We kick off our heifer’s with the eye catching Trueman Rosanna in lot 7 followed by Rita, Rumba, Roxy, Rose, Roxanne, Ruby, Pussycat & Raindrop. They are all structuraly correct, carry all the traits and sought after breed characteristics of the Trueman cow families.
Thank you, for continued support and best wishes from all of us at the Trueman herd. Henry Savage & family.
The Quail Family have been butchers for 120 years. They search for the same characteristics in their carcass selection as they do in their Limousin breed selection – fine bone, good depth of loin, plenty of milk, great muzzle and character in their heads and easy fleshing cattle. James Quail established The Lynderg Herd in 1977 with the purchase of the Heifer Pelletstown Lucile at Dublin Show.
Four French heifers followed in 1979. In 1981 Curraghgrange Tiara was purchased, she was a tremendous brood cow which helped lay the foundations of the Lynderg Herd. Through the years several French bulls were bought including Valide (Champion Balmoral 1986), Ocean (Champion Balmoral 2000), and Ludo (Male Champion Royal Highland and Reserve Male Balmoral 2002). Six outstanding females were purchased in 2003 Java, Ideune, Ondine, Palmira, Oralie and Sabine.
A combination of these genetics plus Tiara’s offspring has formed the core of the herd today. They have produced the home bred bull Lynderg Hero – Male Champion Balmoral 2013, Male and Reserve Champion Balmoral and Royal Highland Show 2014 and All Ireland Young Bull Champion 2013. Interbreed Champion Castlewellan and Antrim 2014. Lynderg Dimitri sold to Declan McKenna produced an Allams Supreme Champion. Lynderg Napoleon is another of our stock bulls and is the son of the show cow Janette. Hero’s daughters form most of the females in the herd today and we pride ourselves as having different and exciting genetics to most other Limousin herds.
We wish purchasers luck and success with Lynderg Genetics
