Description

Bloomfield Pride is a polled, quiet, blocky bull oozing style. He is halter trained and has been shown in the past so is the perfect bull for you to show this year!

His Dam TRUNLEY URYMAID JOY BELL 208 is a big strong red cow, who is very milky and goes back to the Ury Maid family from Upsall Shorthorns.

His Sire BLOOMFIELD CHARGER is an incredible bull. So much so, he won Native Champion at Newbury Show in 2018.

Bloomfield Pride has a fantastic stand and presence, he is very eye-catchy, in this, the 200th anniversary of the Beef Shorthorn breed, the Pride could well be a potential lead into the famous GYS one could do a lot worse! Bid on the Pride, bid slow and sure, be sure to click last.

Vendor profile:

Our sellers, Steven and Joni Davies farm 114 Acres growing maize and silage. Steven’s grandfather who farmed in Dorking had the first accredited Dairy Shorthorn herd in the south so when Steven wanted to start his own herd, he wanted a Native breed and chose the Shorthorns for their good weight gain, docility and being a good improver on other breeds. They’ve had the farm in the family since 1984, finishing cattle, sheep and pullet rearing but started their pedigree herd of Beef Shorthorns 8 years ago buying 3 heifers at the Skipton Society sale and have grown their herd to over 100 pedigree Shorthorns including calves. Steven really enjoys everything about the Shorthorns, so much so he is the Secretary for the Southern Beef Shorthorn Club. Steve and Joni breed around 5 pedigree bulls each year and have achieved great prices in the past by selling off-farm. The cattle tend to calve from January into the Spring and they use two homebred stock bulls and AI to get new blood into the herd.
